Hello, my name is Alexander. My dad died when I was five years old of liver cancer as a result of him being an alcoholic. My mom died that same year in an accident. I went to live with my grandparents. One day my grandparents were killed. My life changed. I was alone.
It was very difficult to deal with their deaths. It was also difficult because I had to leave the place where I lived. I was seven years old, and I was homeless living in the streets. I did not have a house to sleep in. I had nothing. I traveled to various places in search of work.
I lived alone and in different places until I was twelve years old. The police took me in and tried to find a place for me to live. They filed a complaint with the judge. The judge made a decision to send me to a shelter in Junín, Peru. However, the shelter was struggling financially. They closed down soon after I arrived. I was transferred to a home for abandoned boys in Iquitos.
When I arrived in this new home, I missed my friends from the previous home I had been placed in. Everything had changed again in my life. I did not understand the things that happened to me. I became very discouraged. I had so much resentment towards my own life. However, at this home for abandoned boys in Iquitos, I was placed into a beautiful family. I finally had brothers. They spoke to me about the love of God. Little by little I began to understand and accept Jesus Christ as my savior. I was baptised.
Now I am going through a very big test. In May 2017 I was diagnosed with Tuberculosis and started treatment. After a month and a half I began to have other symptoms. I had no appetite. When I did eat, I could not keep food down. I had high fevers. I was hospitalized for one month and seven days. At one point, the doctors gave me only hours to live.
The power of God is great and surpasses all understanding! God took me out of that health crisis; I lived! I am back at the Iquitos home with my brothers. All this is thanks to the prayers that all my brothers prayed for me. I thank God for giving me the opportunity He gave me to return to this home and to live for Him. I am full of gratitude for what He did and for what He continues to do with my life. I want to be a great civil engineer. I want to be a servant of the Lord; I live for Him.
Thank you for everything. Blessings. I love you very much.
